From Istanbul to Monaco: The “Driven34” European trip with lifelong friends.

I have been a proud member of Porsche Club Istanbul for four years, and throughout this time I have had nothing but the most pleasant memories and adventures. I have owned three different 911s, including my current 911 type 991.1 GTS. This love for Porsche and its community has opened doors beyond my imaginations.
I am a car enthusiast living in Istanbul, Turkey, and I own a hobby garage called “Driven34”, which was even featured on Porsche's Instagram account in 2020.
Although my main interest is mainly BMW M cars – I happen to own a few of their special models – I always had my eye on a 911 to own someday. So back in 2018, I finally acquired my first 911, a 997 GTS in Carrara White. It was a brilliant car to both drive and own. Shortly after my purchase, I joined Porsche Club Istanbul, which has perhaps been the best decision of my car life.
Through Porsche Club Istanbul, both my wife and I have made so many like-minded friends whose friendship extends way beyond car events.
Since I love taking my cars on European trips every summer, particularly to the South of France, I emailed Porsche Club France in summer 2018, introducing myself and asking about any events I could participate in. I received a very quick reply, pointing me to all the right people and Clubs in the region. And that is how I met my dear friends at Porsche Club Monaco, whose President, Enrico Caruso is now one of my best friends.
Since then, I have owned three other 911s, but our rituals have remained the same. I love visiting France every summer, and my local friends at Porsche Club Monaco have been most helpful, sincere and caring. Even when I had a small accident with my car, they were there to help.
I could go on about all the wonderful drives we went on from Col de Turini to Gorge de Verdon and many other wonderful occasions but I guess I would take too much of your time.
To sum up, I have found perhaps the best friends I could wish for through my passion for Porsche – combined with the undeniable charm and sincerity of all the Porsche Clubs I have encountered along the way …
