Invitation of Porsche Club Great Britain and Porsche Club of America for the second Club sim racing challenge
This year has seen an unprecedented rise in the popularity of sim racing, with more people discovering the benefits and enjoyment of simulator driving time. Pro racers have kept their racing skills sharp by spending hours in simulators. At the Club level, Porsche Club of America has expanded to over 400 sim racers, and in less than six months Porsche Club Great Britain has almost 100 sim racers in its ‘digital paddock’.
In the summer, Porsche Club of America welcomed Porsche Club Great Britain to the world of sim racing on the iRacing platform, with a friendly two race series, featuring Road America and Silverstone circuits. The races now have almost 9,000 views on YouTube.
As this challenging year comes to a close, Porsche Club Great Britain and Porsche Club of America would like to invite any Porsche Club sim racers around the world to join us for a second international race series. Bringing Porsche race fans together in a multi-race series, featuring circuits from the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, we would like to bring as many sim racers together early in the new year. The races will once again be live broadcast, with professional commentary.
We will race on the iRacing platform, in the 911 GT3 Cup cars, with a fixed setup. Races will be run as heats, and drivers must be D class or above to enter. We will form a league along with a digital paddock on Discord. If entry numbers are high, there may be qualifying rounds before the year end.
We may have to limit numbers for single national Clubs to a maximum of 30 drivers, and before completing the registration form we ask drivers to nominate a ‘Club contact person’ if one does not already exist.
So drivers, find your Club’s sim racing contact and register your details here: https://bit.ly/international-2
We will be in touch soon.
Porsche Club Great Britain and Porsche Club of America
An offer that is both unique and spectacular: For three years now, the Porsche Racing Experience has offered all ambitious Porsche customers the opportunity to gain their first experience in racing and even take up the challenge of undergoing professional training as a racing driver. And not just anywhere – but on the most spectacular Grand Prix circuits in Europe. On circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps, the Nürburgring and Paul Ricard, motorsport enthusiasts can run their first laps at a Porsche GT Trackday and experienced Porsche drivers can improve their skills – and above all: they can make full use of their Porsche racing cars on top-class racetracks so as to get the most out of their sports car, lap by lap.
In the current “race-free” period, Porsche Racing Experience is now entering the next phase. While drivers are currently unable to push their cars to the limit on the racetrack, Porsche simply brings the racetrack to the living rooms of motorsport enthusiasts: with the Porsche Sim Racing Experience. On the Porsche Racing Experience Sim Racing platform, Porsche drivers can step on the gas virtually – the perfect way to enter the cosmos of virtual motorsport.
