TAG Heuer X Porsche: An encounter in style
Advanced technology and superior luxury race to the fore in the latest collaboration from TAG Heuer and Porsche. The result? TAG Heuer’s very first Porsche-inspired Connected Watch. Here’s what you need to know.
When TAG Heuer and Porsche launched their strategic partnership in 2021, the synergy was a natural fit. The fruit of their first collaboration, the TAG Heuer X Porsche Carrera Chronograph, personified their passion for the Carrera, a name as legendary on the road as it is on the wrist.
Fusing their shared motor racing heritage while heading towards the future, the two mythical high-end manufacturers have set out to make history once again. Their latest feat? An outstanding Connected Watch, emulating the Porsche Taycan’s striking design features.
Since its first foray into the world of luxury smartwatches in 2015, TAG Heuer has established itself as the leader in the field, breaking new grounds with continuous innovation and unmatched watchmaking expertise. That same year, Porsche presented with the concept car Mission E its first fully electric sports car: the electro-icon Taycan. This innovative car directly inspired the TAG Heuer X Porsche Connected, a high-end smartwatch offering perks for Porsche owners.
When technicity meets luxury
The physical hardware and the software of this titanium and ceramic smartwatch is inspired by the distinctive metallic shade of the Frozen blue Taycan. TAG Heuer’s next-generation Calibre E4 is working hard behind the scenes, offering an exclusive suite of sports and wellness apps, as well as everything else that comes with Google’s Wear OS.
Owners of a selected range of Porsche models from 2022 onwards, including the Panamera, 911, Cayenne, Macan, and Taycan models, will also enjoy access to applications that directly display essential data such as car battery percentage and total mileage, as well as easy on-screen access to the MyPorsche app. To top it all off, this model also features an exclusive watch face.
Speed and precision inspire the case as well. The 45mm case is crafted from ultra-light, high-tensile titanium with a sandblasted black DLC coating and a ceramic bezel. Details like the TAG Heuer shield on the steel crown surrounded by rubber and the Porsche name on the bezel are highlighted in Frozen blue. Another subtle feature is the bezel scale going from zero to 400, a nod to the Porsche car’s speed.
Automotive inspiration strikes again on the strap. Evoking the fit and finish of the Taycan Turbo S, this comfortable rubber-backed strap features black carbon with emblematic blue stitching. The perfect finishing touch on a dynamic, fast-moving design that’s sure to turn heads.
